  • A Study on Apostle Peter's betrayal of Christ and Jesus' forgiveness..

There is therefore now no condemnation for those who are in Christ Jesus.

For the law of the Spirit of life has set you free in Christ Jesus from the law of sin and death.
For God has done what the law, weakened by the flesh, could not do.
By sending his own Son in the likeness of sinful flesh and for sin, he condemned sin in the flesh, in order that the righteous requirement of the law might be fulfilled in us, who walk not according to the flesh but according to the Spirit.
For those who live according to the flesh set their minds on the things of the flesh, but those who live according to the Spirit set their minds on the things of the Spirit.
To set the mind on the flesh is death, but to set the mind on the Spirit is life and peace.

    -- Romans 8:1-6

When they had finished eating, Jesus said to Simon Peter, "Simon son of John, do you truly love me more than these?"
"Yes, Lord," he said, "you know that I love you."
          Jesus said, "Feed my lambs."

Again Jesus said, "Simon son of John, do you truly love me?"
He answered, "Yes, Lord, you know that I love you."
Jesus said, "Take care of my sheep."

The third time he said to him, "Simon son of John, do you love me?"
Peter was hurt because Jesus asked him the third time, "Do you love me?"
He said, "Lord, you know all things; you know that I love you."

Jesus said, "Feed my sheep. I tell you the truth, when you were younger you dressed yourself and went where you wanted; but when you are old you will stretch out your hands, and someone else will dress you and lead you where you do not want to go."
Jesus said this to indicate the kind of death by which Peter would glorify God. Then he said to him, "Follow me!"
    -- John 21:15-19

A new command I give you: Love one another.
As I have loved you, so you must love one another.
By this all men will know that you are my disciples, if you love one another.
    -- John 13:34-35

  • Hope deferred makes the heart sick,
but a longing fulfilled is a tree of life.

    -- Proverbs 13:12

I eagerly expect and hope that I will in no way be ashamed,
but will have sufficient courage so that now as always
Christ will be exalted in my body, whether by life or by death.
For to me, to live is Christ and to die is gain.

    -- Philippians 1:20-21

Moses was faithful as a servant in all God's house,
testifying to what would be said in the future.
But Christ is faithful as a son over God's house.
And we are his house, if we hold on to our courage
and the hope of which we boast.

    -- Hebrews 3:5-7

I thank God for my parents and for speaking the Word of God into my life
and renewing my hope and trust in the Faithful and Trustworthy God
who keeps all of his promises and covenants
and took the time, effort, and initiative to love a sinner like me.

Thank you Lord Jesus for my mother and my father.
oh yeah...  my sisters were a nice bonus.   yea  God!   woot.   =)

If I find in myself a desire which no experience in this world can satisfy,
the most probable explanation is that I was made for another world.
    -- C. S. Lewis

    Be sure that the ins and outs of your individuality are no mystery to Him;
and one day they will no longer be a mystery to you.
    -- C. S. Lewis

Indeed, all who desire to live a godly life in Christ Jesus will be persecuted,
while evil people and impostors will go on from bad to worse, deceiving and being deceived.
But as for you, continue in what you have learned and have firmly believed,
knowing from whom you learned it and how from childhood you have been acquainted with the sacred writings,
which are able to make you wise for salvation through faith in Christ Jesus.
All Scripture is breathed out by God and profitable for teaching, for reproof, for correction, and for training in righteousness, that the man of God may be competent,
    equipped for every good work.
    -- 2 Timothy 3:12-17

The Prince of Peace who saves me from myself
and loves me as one of his own.
